Weekend context

Qualifying
Russell took a controversial pole with a 1:06.113 in Q3, set moments after Verstappen crashed at Turn 9 during his final flying lap. Race classification
Russell converted pole into his seventh career victory, controlling the race from the front despite late pressure from Verstappen. The Red Bull driver closed the gap after the final pit stop but could not find a way past, finishing 1.611 seconds behind. Antonelli claimed the fastest lap on lap 59 with a 1:10.374 and finished just 0.375 seconds behind Verstappen.

Fastest lap, grid notes and penalties
Antonelli set the fastest race lap with a 1:10.374 on lap 59. Verstappen was second fastest on 1:10.483 (lap 57), followed by Piastri on 1:10.595 (lap 45), Leclerc on 1:10.606 (lap 67) and Norris on 1:10.652 (lap 55).
Verstappen's Q3 crash required significant repairs to his Red Bull, but he was able to start the race from his fifth-place grid slot. The race saw a Virtual Safety Car period that affected pit stop strategies, with some drivers gaining an advantage from the timing of their stops.

Russell's victory moved him back into second in the drivers' standings on 131 points, 41 behind Antonelli who added fastest lap to his third place and now has 172 points. Verstappen's strong haul of 18 points lifted him to 73, while Hamilton's difficult race left him on 125.
Mercedes extended its constructors' lead to 304 points after a one-three finish. Ferrari remains second on 209, McLaren third on 161, and Red Bull Racing fourth on 107 after both cars scored points.
